More Quilts from the 2014 Road to California Quilt Show

This happy quilt was hanging in the main hallway at the show.

I didn’t think I had captured the name of the quilt or who had made it, but thank goodness for the ability to crop photos. “Jack’s Cabin or Tough Times, Tough Pattern” by Susan Maddox.

However, I definitely didn’t get the information on this quilt. I love snowflakes and these ones in wool have fabulous texture.

Road to California Quilt Show

I spent part of yesterday at the 2014 Road to California Quilt Show. Once again there were amazing and inspiring quilts. Here are a few of my favorites.

An original design “Ambrosia” by Gina Perkes was inspired by a duvet cover in a Pottery Barn catalog.

This is so out of the box abstract for me, but I was drawn to it and the quilting gives a truly fabulous texture. I took a class from Katie years ago when she was doing Fractured Landscapes and her techniques and teaching skills were enlightening.

One word – Stunning.

Sharon Schamber’s “Once Upon a Time” won Best of Show. There were so many in front of the quilt I had to take a picture from the side. This is truly a work of art.

Looking at close ups you can see why.
