Christmas Table with Red Transferware

I haven’t blogged in forever. I know this as many of my friends have mentioned upon it frequently. So this table is set for my friends near & far, those I see regularly or not so much and those I have “met” through blogging.

I have collected red/pink transferware for years. My first purchase was a Johnson Brothers “Old British Castles soup tureen. I just looked at Replacements, Ltd and realized again how lucky I was to find it all those years ago. This year I found these “Twas the night before Christmas” plates at Home Goods. They are actually stoneware, but the color is perfect.

Even the underside of the plate has decoration.

So the table was set. The antique red stemware and red charger pulled out the red from the plates. A demitasse saucer under then wine glass allows the red base to show.

Although I didn’t know it, something was missing.

I was searching thru every TJRossHomeGoods (yes, it is one word) to help my friend Nancy complete her Christmas dinner plates, when I spied these appetizer plates. “Poinsettia Toile” by 222 Fifth.

Now the place setting was complete.

Sandwiched between the two red toile plates are clear “Sleigh Ride” salad plates.

Won’t you join me now that the table is is set?

After dinner there’s demitasse cups for coffee, tea or homemade cranberry cordial.
