Winter - it’s for the Birds?
When I set this table a couple of weeks ago it was for Cuisine Kathleen’s - Winter/Snow Challenge . So better late than never right??? Particularly as there is such extreme cold in so much of the country.
With the pops of red it works just as well for a Valentines Day table. Even though life has been busy, it has been nice to walk in at night and have a peaceful table to view.
The inspiration for the table came from this small platter I found at TJ Maxx in December.
I also picked up two pitchers , a sugar bowl & creamer. Red roses were the perfect accent and lent some romance to the table.
Some were also place in what could be a gravy boat on the side board.
I have to admit I was very tempted to take home the salad plates as well, but space in the cupboards is getting tight.
Instead I used solid color plates
on top of some great chargers I found in December at BackDrop - a store on Lancaster Blvd. Sorry Nancy they only had one set of six.
Antique red based stemware were filled with snowflake napkins made from fabric by Maywood Studios.
Snowflakes landed elsewhere on the table.
The large snowflake was last used on my Christmas tree here.
Birds landed on the table …
I found some cute red bird candles at Home Goods
(I just couldn’t light them – they are too cute).
Salt & pepper shakers from Pier 1.
A lacy potpourri bird, also from Home Goods, is nestled up against some small snowflakes.
And this little birdie has chocolate covered sunflower seeds to share. She has left some at each place setting.
So please take a seat out of the cold.
We’re lucky, it’s only supposed to get down to 27 degrees here tonight. But it’s always warm when you spend an evening with friends.
Thank you so much for visiting.
Stitch at you Soon,
Dawna
