Camille Beckman

My husband, the golf guy (GG from here on) and I are in Boise, Idaho for our annual summer visit with his family.

While here I always try and visit a few of my favorite places.
My first visit was to the Camille Beckman gift shop. It is located on the grounds with the factory just outside of Eagle.





I always like to go and stock up.  They have the most amazing glycerine based hand care products, creams, lotions and bath items. Secret Sea was my new favorite scent this visit. My all time favorite is Vanilla and Mango Beach.



The gift shop sells home décor and jewelry as well as the full line of Camille Beckman products. The ladies who work in the gift shop are very gracious and remember me  although I only visit twice a year.





This display had some melamine dishes with a grey mottled border. The serving pieces had chickens on them.



I fell in love with this dresser, but there was no way to take it home with me.

On the way back out to the car were lots of bees buzzing around in the lavender.

Dinner is set for my friends and family to celebrate Canada Day on July 1st.

This platter has been in my parents’ home for as long as I can remember. My Mum graciously lent it to me for this post.

Dinner plate used as a charger from TJMaxx – CIROA. When they were at the store for four weeks I decided it was a sign I should take them home.

Behind the table is draped my quilt “Dual Citizenship”. For although I was born in Canada my home is in the America.

Dessert is set up on the sideboard for after the meal.. In our family EAT-MORE with its dark toffee peanut butter bars is always a favorite choice. There is also red velvet cupcakes and coffee.

Night is falling and it’s time to light the candles.

Quilt Run 2012

A couple of weeks ago I posted that we were getting ready for the Southern California Quilt Run. The run started last weekend on the 14th. All of the store participating are open extra hours during for the runners to easily make it to all 32 stores. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 9 am to 8 pm and Sundays from 9 am to 5 pm.

We spend a lot of time coming up with new quilt designs and kits to get the runners excited. The store is cleaned and redecorated with all of the new samples.
There is still time to cover at least one area or more if you run really fast. Each store has Mystery gifts as that is the theme for this year.

In Area 1, which we are a part of each store has a block pattern with a corresponding quilt pattern. If you collect from all seven stores you then will combine the eight blocks (eight blocks?) for a ninth quilt pattern that measures 106” x 106”. Our store has two block to pass out so that's how you get eight.

The quilts for Area 1 were designed by Tiffany Hayes of Needle in a Hayes Stack. We are really blessed that she is not only our friend, but also our employee. She also is our web chick. She is Multitalented!

Little table runners designed by Tiffany Hayes of Needle in a Hayes Stack hang behind the front counter. The kits include front, back, binding and batting. Sorry, you have to quilt them yourself.

Gift From the Sea

Before company arrives there is time to sit by the pool, listen to the waterfall with a glass of iced coffee and catch up on some reading. There is an extra rocker with cozy pillows if you want to join me.



The quilt was made years ago from a line of Fig Tree fabrics by Joanna Figueroa for Moda.. Her fabric always has a lovely vintage feel. Soft, but not faded.



Of course the perfect reading material is Gift From the Sea by Anne Morrow Lindbergh.
