Last month my sister Fay was out of town during my birthday. Luckily for me she went to Atchison, Kansas, home of the original Nell Hill's store. It is more than a store it is an adventure in decorating.
I love my sister dearly as I am much more of a pink girl and way more frou frou, she knows me well and always finds wonderful items to grace my home and tables. She has found me bee items before as I sell Longaberger and our convention is called the Bee.
The gift. The bees are a combination of blue and periwinkle. So immediately I started thinking of a table to honor the gift.
I pulled bee items from around the house. And added yellow to give the table some pop.
A cookie jar sets the stage.
A wee bear, as we all know bears love honey.
Some scented yellow pears.
The place setting consisted of the following layers.
Napkin rings out of Renaissance Ribbon. They have the most amazing designs and we carry some of them at Bolts in the Bathtub. Flatware is Longaberger.
Place mats from TJ Maxx.
Chargers are dinner plates are Longaberger soft squares.
Dinner plates I have had forever. They are George Good company – Herb Basket. I love the lattice edging.
Salad plates Christopher Stuart – Batalha White. I have had them about 20 years.
Bread plate is Longaberger from years ago also. They came in multi color sets and Fay and I split them so we each have two colors.
I purchased the stemware recently on sale at Pier 1.
The cream and sugar are already on the table for after dinner coffee.
As is the tea bag holder.
The sideboard is all set up with the cups for after the meal.
Coffee, tea or espresso in my b-day gift from my Mum.
Thanks for stopping by.
Stitch at you soon, Dawna
