We’ve been very busy the last two weeks at the new store location. When we reopened on the 8th of June racks were in place with fabric, but there had been very little fluffing.
But,with the Southern California Quilter’s Run starting on Thursday the 20th we rose to the challenge. So I present to you our new store:
Peggy based the letters for our sidewalk board on letters from a embroidery design card.
As our new signs won’t be up until July 1st, I went to the FedEx printing center and had our logo printed out on plotter paper. Two smaller ones were laminated for the front and back doors,
and a larger one to put in the front window. For under $34 dollars, it was money well spent.
Come on in.
There is a great tiled entry way with windows looking into the store. The Belgian baby bathtub holds geraniums for the summer. It will be a lot of fun changing out what is in the tub for the different seasons.
The quilt on the daybed made by Anna is Multi-Faceted by Cozy Quilt from our last Strip Club. You can visit Anna’s blog The Artist Within here. We are extremely lucky to have her as a teacher/employee. The chevron fabric on the corner just came in.
I’m thinking a summer Dresden plate quilt with the brights as beach umbrellas.
Sorry, I squirreled. You know quilters do that when they look at fabric right?
Displayed behind the bed is The Bopple Ball. It’s a fun play item for kids.
The front counter area. The quilt is “Transformer Dude” - one of our variations for the Quilt Run.
Aprons are really popular. We loved this panel and the coordinates are gorgeous. There is yardage, plus dishes are available. It would be a lovely for a romantic kitchen.
Another apron from Kwik Sew has sizes for adult, child and 18” dolls in one pattern.
Choices, choices, choices.
Christmas fabric has started to arrive at the store. It is in front of on of the two offices we kept from when the location was a law office. You can see the planning and demo here. If you missed our moving and store set up , they are - Day 1, Day 2 and Day 3.
My sister Fay has the office behind the verticals. The beige was fine in the law office, but they look kind of dirty now with our white paint. We might need to change those.
The Christmas tree quilt hanging over the wall was designed by Tiffany at Needle in a Hayes Stack. She is also one of our teacher/employees. She also is our web girl.
Red with grey and white are huge this year for Christmas fabric.
We don’t have a lot of unused wall space so there are plenty of quilts (what we call dead quilt hanging) gathered and cascading (that is so much nicer sounding) from ceiling height.
Across the store is the BERNINA area, which is still a work in progress.
And a wall of thread.
And of course, not to be forgotten is the tub! Currently it’s filled with red, white, blue and patriotic.
Better get to the store. Runners will be arriving in an hour.
Stitch at you Soon,
Dawna

omg, it is wonderful! Can't wait to be there in the fall. You need to bring me one of those apron panels to BU and info on the dishes of course! Love, love the umbrellas. Congrats on a job well done that must have been exhausting! Brava!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your new store! I used to be a quilter but it went by the wayside when the babies came along. Maybe someday I'll get back to it. I still love and appreciate them. Good luck with the new store. - Dawn
